The Modern Filipina : Life is a Party

In last Friday's episode of #MakeFitHappen, we had on the program the awesome Kimi Lu, Global Life & Leadership Coach and Founder of Sacred Spaces & Well-Being Boost Program, helping people find their center and live their best life to the fullest.

Kimi's journey towards her advocacy of helping people with their mental health and well-being, began at an early age, after going through bouts of personal crisis herself. At the tender age of 20s, with a good job, a comfortable life, supportive family, the echoing feeling of "internal lack" or "emptiness" persisted. Back then, without much emphasis and awareness on mental health in the mainstream, very few options were available to her. Thus, she took it upon herself to pursue formal education on the field, with the intention of being able to help those going through what she went through.

Fast forward to 2020, her and her team are helping people of all ages, gender, status, empowering them to take control over their life. Now more than ever, when things are happening left and right, and everyday may be a constant struggle, having the support and help of a team such as theirs can make all the difference. Their advocacy, revolves around helping people build on their personal strengths through self-discovery, with 4 key pillars. First, finding and setting your "intentions", allows you to dig deep and everday becomes a journey towards a bigger purpose. Second, practicing "gratitude", gives you the perspective to look at each day as a blessing. Third, being "self-compassionate", where one learns to fill up their cups, setting boundaries, and loving oneself. And lastly, "courage" to transform your life into the best version.

Experiencing this transformation benefits all aspects of your life. Like a ripple, that starts with your internal development, it spreads towards how you build relationships, go about with your work, and in this process, impact other people around you.

For Kimi, living your best life means not being afraid to be who you are, to do what you want to do (without hurting anybody), and not having to think about what other people has to say about it. Living your best life means waking up every morning like it is your first time to experience life, with a sense of wonder and gratitude, making the most of each day and celebrating your wins no matter how small or big they are. Life afterall, is a celebration

Indeed an inspiring Filipina. Cheers to Kimi! Cheers to the Modern Pinay!
